Welcome to the North Aurora Fire Protection District web site. Our fire department serves and protects over 16,000 residents in a 9 ½ sq. mile district. We offer a variety of programs and services to the community including Fire and Emergency Medical Service, Technical Rescue, Public Education, and Home and Business Safety
Inspections.
A separate organization among the membership called the North Aurora Firefighters Association raises funds for several community programs and events. Our annual Turkey Raffleprovides funding for the organization. Public education materials, college scholarships, DARE, youth baseball and basketball, Operation Christmas, Burn Camp for Kids, Lions
Club and Suicide Prevention Services are just some of theprograms we contribute to.
We are also the lead agency of the Southern Kane County Training Association. The Association is a 501( c )(3) not for profit organization that was formed to offer training to firefighters. Over 1800 students from 162 different fire departments send firefighters to our location to take part in 28 different subject areas. Management, Technical Rescue and Hazardous Materials make up the major portion of our curriculum. We have a 10 acre training site on Butterfield Road to accommodate the practical education portion of the classes. The training site has a live fire burn tower, a dive lake, collapse simulator, high angle rescue prop, trench field, extrication pad and a confined space rubble pile. An education building and apparatus storage building are planned for the site as well. When complete, it will be the premiere Public Safety Training Center in the Midwest.
Our members are working hard and committed to serving our community and welcome anyone that would like to be part of our organization.
Sincerely,
Chief Steve Miller
