It is my pleasure to welcome you to the North Aurora Fire Protection District website. Our fire department responds to approximately 2,000 combined fire and EMS requests annually, protecting over 18,000 residents in a 10 sq. mile district. We offer a variety of programs and services to the community including Fire and Paramedic, Technical Rescue, Hazardous Materials, Fire/Arson Investigation, Public Education, and Home/Business Safety Inspections. We are also actively involved with surrounding fire departments providing automatic and mutual aid wherever and whenever possible.
Our staffing includes one (1) Fire Chief, one (1) Assistant Chief, one (1) Fire Marshal, 24 full-time personnel, 27 part-time (POC) personnel, one (1) Administrative Assistant and one (1) Mechanic.
A separate organization among the membership called the North Aurora Firefighters Association raises funds for several community programs and events. Our annual Turkey Raffle provides funding for public education materials, college scholarships, youth sports, Operation Christmas, Lions Club, North Aurora Mothers Club and Budda’s Brotherhood Organization. These are just some of the many programs we contribute to.
We are also the lead agency of the Southern Kane County Training Association. The Association is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization that was formed to offer training to firefighters. We have a 10 acre training site on Butterfield Road to accommodate the practical education portion of the classes. The training site has a live fire burn tower, dive lake, collapse simulator, high angle rescue prop, trench field, extrication pad, and confined space rubble pile.
The North Aurora Fire Protection District is actively involved in educating the citizens of the district through public education programs. Our district prides itself on continuing education and training of all personnel. We also provide preventative education and services to local businesses through fire inspections so the safest environment can be provided for their customers and employees.
Our members are highly motivated and committed to providing excellent services to our community. Feel free to stop by or call to schedule a tour or block party visit, sign up for CPR education, or request an educational program that fits your specific needs. We will work to the best of our abilities to provide the citizens with whatever programs possible.
We encourage your input. If you have suggestions about items that should be included on our website, we would like to hear from you. Please contact our website staff at email@example.com.
