Meet The Board Members
Gerald Auchstetter was born in Mendota, IL. He has been married to his wife, Linda, for 47 years. He has three children and nine grandchildren. Mr. Auchstetter belongs to Blessed Sacrament Church in North Aurora where he is a minister to the homebound. He graduated from Mendota High School in 1955 and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University in 1960. He continued his education at Northern Illinois University where he received a Masters Degree in 1964. Jerry was employed as a teacher at Geneva High School for 34 years, retiring in 1994. He served as Athletic Director there from 1985-1992 and was head football coach from 1967-1985. He is the President/Owner of West Suburban Properties. He was named Geneva Citizen of the Year in 1973, elected to the Western Illinos University Hall of Fame in 1986, the Illinois High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame in 1988, and the Geneva High School Hall of Fame in 2000. In addition, Mr. Auchstetter is a children’s book author having published “Boney” in 2000. He enjoys golf and fishing. Mr. Auchstetter has served as a Trustee on the NAFPD Board since1993.
Richard Brackett was born in Aurora and has been a resident of North Aurora since 1960. He has been married to Joan for 52 years and has two adult children. He graduated from West Aurora High School in 1953 and served in the Marine Corps from 1953-1956 where he was in radio communications. Employed by Sound, Inc as a communications technician for 34 years, he retired in 2000 and has been self-employed since that time. Mr. Brackett’s hobbies include electronics and traveling with his wife in their RV. Mr. Brackett has served on the North Aurora Fire Department since 1960, retiring in 1990 as Assistant Chief. He has served as a Trustee on the Board since 1990.
Richard Haen was born in New London, WI and has been a resident of North Aurora for 51 years. He has been married for 53 years to his wife, Joan and has four children, 10 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. He served in the Army for six years and worked in Army ordinance disposal during the Korean Conflict. He was employed for 25 years at Miller Pack and has been employed at Aurora Pack as a meat salesperson for the past 25 years. Mr. Haen enjoys fishing and hunting in his spare time. Mr. Haen has served as a Trustee since 1974. |
