Community Involvement

North Aurora Firefighters Association

The North Aurora Firefighters Association is the philanthropic division of the fire department. It is comprised of all the firefighters and governed by a five member board consisting of a President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Executive Board Trustee.

Throughout the year, the North Aurora Firefighters Association contributes to several community organizations such as the North Aurora Lions Club, the North Aurora Mothers Club, School PTA/PTOs, and the North Aurora Baseball Association. Additional money is given to the community through support of Operation Christmas, four $1,000 scholarships toward the first year of college tuition, our Public Education Program and numerous charitable events and causes. Lastly a number of contributions are made to community events such as the Pet Parade, the North Aurora Community Parade and North Aurora Days.

The Association’s main fundraiser is the annual Turkey Raffle held the weekend before Thanksgiving. The success of the Turkey Raffle continues to increase as community participation grows. The Association also hosts an annual golf outing to raise funds. The 2014 golf outing was our 15th annual.

As well as assisting the community, the Association provides funding for the wellness of firefighters through the purchase of workout equipment, training equipment and specialty equipment.

The North Aurora Fire Department will send an engine or ambulance to public events and host any of the above classes as availability allows. Please provide at least two weeks advance notice so that we can schedule events and classes. To schedule an apparatus a tour or a class, contact us at (630) 897-9698.
